“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something.”

― Barack Obama

In 2016, I slunk into a depression and it took a second hearing of those words at the end of 2017 for them to sink in. I immediately began finding candidates to believe in. First it was Conor Lamb, then it was Beto O’Rourke. Watching them campaign was uplifting, but it wasn’t enough. I started sending donations to every candidate I loved, *and*, I decided to come back home to Colorado and physically get out and talk door to door to GOTV.

It worked. I’m about to finish my second book. I’ve canvassed thousands of people and gotten commitments to vote from so many of them. I am light of heart and pain of feet (dear gawd my feet hurt).

I’m telling you this story because you can do something too. If you’re American, even abroad, you can make phone calls/text for candidates/propositions/amendments, you can volunteer in your state to text or canvass for your local candidate.

And you can GOTV on social media. Tell your friends here on FB, Goodreads, Twitter, MeWe, Snapchat, Instagram, *EVERYWHERE* to go #VOTE.
