Why is time moving so fast? I swear to you that I was 25 like yesterday. Now I’m 26(+20 >.>). YES, I’M OLD. Which is my entire excuse..?
Trying to keep track of all my social media is a testament to my age. Twitter, Facebook(Why are we as a community still using this? Can we talk about that? Let’s mass move somewhere!). What inevitably happens is that I think everyone is reading my twitter and Facebook and is up to date. Surprising no one but me, lots of people hate twitter and don’t read it. And a lot of you don’t read Facebook either. This is my super long winded, and rambly, way of saying that things are happening and I’ve been an idiot and only posted updates on Twitter.

When I last updated the blog, I’d just started writing again. Where were are now is that I’ve written most of the book and people have read most of it too! I have 2 scenes left to write, plus an epilogue(around 3-4k words) and I’m hoping, not promising, to get them done by the end of August. I have several beta readers who are reading the current story/revisions. They seem to like it? And I can’t thank them enough for being so patient and writing detailed notes on problems/issues and kudos. They will, hopefully, finish beta reading before September at which point I’ll be editing like a madman on crack and, since I’ll be in the States, probably Jolt cola. (crack in my word = anything with sugar).
How long will it take to edit? I have no idea. Originally, probably a month or so, but I’m heading back to the States to work for any progressive campaign or organization that I can find and help the BlueWave become the BlueTsunami. So those things will slow, but not stop, the book’s progress. For now, resisting the Trump agenda feels more important than the book. Which isn’t to say that it’s not important to me. My goal is to have the book 100% completed by August and into editing/beta reads which I’ll do while working.
Lastly, I’d like to invite everyone in the USA to help resist the Trump agenda, an agenda which is harmful to people of color AND LGBTQ people.
On Reddit go to the BlueMidterm2018 where you’ll find a list in the wiki and sidebar of progressive organizations all over the USA that resist and will help bring that bluewave to reality. There’s hundreds of different organizations, from ones that target flippable districts to an organization that writes postcards to remind voters to vote.
Best way to help: VOTE. Register 10 friends to vote and carpool to the polls. Make it a party.
(PS: If anyone knows a campaign that needs an excited, but zero-political-experienced person, please, I’m looking for a job. I have no ties to any state/city and will move anywhere as long as I can work for the apartment I’d need. We can’t afford two monthly rents or I’d work for free while back home.)
