A male prostitute, a mangy cat, a murder and a maniachal mix-up that threatens his career, his impending marriage and his life. Nothing is going as planned for Austin Glass.

Austin – seems to have it all. At least on the surface. A loving fiancee. A future with the FBI and a healthy sized trust fund. He also has a grin and a wisecrack for every situation. But the smile he presents to everyone hides a painful past he’s buried too deeply to remember. And his quips mask bitterness and insecurity. Austin has himself and most of the whole world fooled. Until he meets someone who immediately sees him better than he sees himself.

As events unfold and Austin’s world unravels, he finds himself pushed into making quick life-changing decisions. But can he trust Peter or what’s happening between them when each meeting seems to be just a series of volatile reactions?

I just read your first chapter of Shattered Glass. I think it is gonna be really good. I was just assuming that it was getting me interested enough in it to want to buy it. It did. By the time I finished I found your characters interesting enough to follow them to the end……and I would pay for the privilege. I kept thinking ‘oh man Angela is so sweet but she is gonna have her hands full’. I look forward to following your work.

    Sincerely,

    Don Kennedy

    • Dani

      Hey Don,

Thanks so much for your kind comments. =) I’ll look forward to hearing what you think of the whole book. And yes, poor Angelica, she, and all the other people involved in Austin’s life, definitely have their hands full.

      Thank you for stopping by!

      <3

I’m all for supporting self-published books but I’ve ended up with some duds. Not as many as the publishers have sold me so every time I see an MM romance that sounds a good bet for the price, I’m willing to take a gamble. This time I hit the jackpot! It’s been awhile since I was so delighted with a book. I’m only a third of the way through Shattered Glass and I just to stop by and say what an excellent piece of writing it is. Unless you do something really weird and stupid (unlikely), this is going to be a 5-star review on Goodreads when I’m done:)

Could you please, PLEASE, tell me when I can expect the sequels to be out?

    • Dani

Thanks so much Elaine, I’m glad you’re enjoying it and that you gave SG a chance.

As for the other books, I wish I could give you a date, but unfortunately that’s not just on the writing, but on the editors and proofreaders.I’ll try to update on the blog when Not So Innocent is ready. Right now it’s only about 1/10th of the way done – mostly because editing and formatting and getting SG ready for print have taken over my time the last two weeks. Heh. Feel free to stop by anytime and bull-whip me into writing faster =D. Sometimes I just need a good whoop’n.

Thank you again for your kind words

  • Kady

Oh man, came home, checked Goodreads, someone was reading Shattered Glass, went and bought it, started reading…
So I read, and read, I had to stop, make coffee, come and check out if there were more books by this author, anything to make the book last longer as I’m quite a fast reader, so… Hello there! I am enjoying the book so so much, maybe I’ll go and clean the kitchen, vigorously, and with great enthusiasm, before I’ll allow myself back to the book, screw the kitchen, back to the book!

    • Dani Alexander

Kitchen cleaning >8( Not fun. I’m sorry my book made you clean the kitchen? 😉

      • Kady

Oh, the kitchen never had a chance 😀 I’m still reading and it’s way past the time to hit the hay.

        • Dani Alexander

haha I don’t know whether to say yay or sorry. lol I’ll settle for : sleep well. =)

  • Melissa

I bought Shattered Glass based on Sirius’ (one of my favorite reviewers) Amazon review yesterday morning and I finished it around 2am! The sharp dialogue, the great characters, the bunny slippers! Soooo, does Not so Innocent have a publication date yet?!?

    • Dani Alexander

      Hey Melissa,
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed the book! 2am? Should I feel guilty or did you get to sleep in late? =D

I’m sorry to say I don’t have a date for Not So Innocent. Cai is very particular about his story >8( and he is making me get it just right! lol I will keep everyone informed as I write, however. You can subscribe for updates on the feed to the right or check out my status updates on Goodreads =). Right now I’m working on getting Shattered Glass into paperback print, so I’ve been unable to work on NSI, but Cai is definitely not letting me get away with that for long!

  • Nithu Stevens

I got up early this morning to finish Shattered Glass and was sad it had to end. I loved every word of it and could hardly bear to put it down… in fact I didn’t actually put it down, my Kindle fell out of my hands and slid off the bed when I nodded off for the 3rd time, around 2am, and hubby put his foot down with a firm hand and insisted on putting the light out!

    • I was sad to end it, so I commisirate! Tell your husband that I’m sorry? And I’ll put sleepy-elves in the next book. Unionized, ofc, and ready with lullabies at the requested time! 🙂

      • Nithu

Don’t worry about it him – it was the perfect opportunity for him to be a grumpy old git; he wouldn’t have missed it for the world 😉 Seriously though, I loved every word of the book and am really looking forward to the rest of the series.

  • Hello, urmm just to say I did a review of your book Shattered Glass *ducks and hides*, just thought I’d pass this on so you can have a look at it. http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/shattered-glass-by-dani-alexander/ …. *going into hiding so Dani Alexander can’t find me for breaking her rules* lol.

    • LOL I’m about as dangerous as a Disney-animated bird. @@ I don’t have rules about anyone responding to me =) Only my responding to their review. Thank you for stopping by =) I’m so happy you did.

PS: responding to comments isn’t the same as a review, because those are directed at me =). Reviews, in my opinion, are for the readers. Stop by anytime you want. In fact, let me hang a Pixies Welcome sign over the door!

      • Oh thank god, I am useless at hiding 😉

I also wanted to ask if you have any fanfiction or slashfiction or any stories hidden away somewhere because Shattered Glass was really polished for a first published work.

P.S. You did see the birds with Snow White in that Shrek film didn’t you!!!

        • Don’t worry, I wouldn’t be able to hide either. I inevitably have to sneeze, cough or trip over my own feet when trying to be subtle and quiet.

          I plead the 5th =D

Re: PS: I did see those birds, but Shrek is done by Dreamworks, so it doesn’t count. =D

Who the hell are you and where did you coome from? I got a notice from Goodreads that your book Shattered Glass was on a Read list. The title reminded me of another book by another author..the titles are close..anyhoo. I started reading the reviews and could not resist downloading from Amazon..The price alone is crazy low for the word count. Im really looking forward to your next releases!

    • =) Well, thank you for downloading it and I hope you enjoyed the story.

LOL I’m not sure where to go for that first part of your post. I’m….from Colorado?

      • hannah martin

I absolutely loved this story. I finished it up last night.

        • Not sure why I didn’t get notification of this reply >8( But thanks! I’m glad you liked it! That’s awesome to hear.

Hi. Your book is awesome. Who is the person on the bottom right of the cover there?

    • Hey, Irie. Thanks =) Glad you like it. The person at the bottom is Cai <3

  • Danni

ahhh fuck i failed my french test reading you AMAZING FUCKING NOVEL!i don’t know wither to hate you or love you….or and btw why is a 350 page book only $3?

    • Sorry! If it makes you feel any better, I failed at least two French exams in high school. But let me just say, LOVE ME, definitely choose the “love” option.

PS: It’s $3 because it apparently causes French Test Failure!

  • SC Lancaster

Okay, I’m trying to be polite (with liberal acronym usage and much begging, Yay!) – WE NEED NSI ASAP! Please, please, please tell us when it’s going to be available? Please?  I’m rereading SG again, in my impatience for NSI.  I feel like I used to when I was waiting for the next Harry Potter book!  😉  (Now doesn’t that make you feel good?)

SG was amazing. Kudos to you for such a great, wonderful, amazing book. Now, put us out of our misery and give us the next one!  lol   I’ll concede that you can’t just crank out a book, it is a creative process I know, but help a girl out, huh? Spring/Summer? Spring is gone and summer is here.   Gimme, gimme, gimme.

    • LOL I’m trying, I promise. =) Cai told me that his story needs to be very specific and if I get it wrong, it’s quite possible he’ll pack up and move to another brain. I hope you can hold on for a little while longer!

  • Graeme

I haven’t read a book in a long time! and there is a reason for that, which is because I really don’t like reading… But your book has changed me, not only is the book an amazing story, but the way it is composed and structured is second to non. Your are unbelievably talented and you are my first ever most memorable writer! I love your work and your captivating writing. Unfortunately for you, you now have a fan for life!

    Graeme

    • Wow, Graeme, I don’t know what to say. You just made my entire year with your post. Thank you so much <3 I don't think it's unfortunate at all. I'm very lucky to have a reader like you. =) I hope that you find hundreds of stories in your future. Really, thank you again. Just…wow.

      • Graeme

You’re very welcome 🙂 I have literally told anyone who will
listen about you and your writing, I’m sure I have mentioned you to nearly
every Londoner I have met! I am aware of how excitable I sound, and believe me
I’m usually very blasé when it comes to expressing interest. But credit given
where credits due and all that 🙂 I could write all day expressing why you’re
writing is so riveting, which is strange because I plainly know nothing about
        literature.
What I’m trying to say is, please keep up the excellent work!

P.S hats off to the cover of the book, the models of Peter
and Austin really helped with the old imagination!

        Graeme 😀

  • Granty_NZ

That was one of the best, if not the best, books I have read! I actually couldn’t stand to put it down … Luckily I started reading on a Friday night and had all weekend to complete it! Really connected with the characters … Thanks for such a great story … and I am simply in knots waiting for the next in the series!

    • Hey Granty,

It’s awesome to hear when someone connects with the characters and the story. Thank you so much for the kind words.

I’ll try and have the next story out before you turn into a pretzel.

Thanks again for both reading and stopping by to make me smile the rest of the day =D.

    Dear Dani,
I have never written a book review in my life until now. Shattered Glass was so riveting that every chance I had over the last few days, I had to pick up my IPad and continue reading. The characters, the story kept me going. Having lived in Kosovo, I was well aware of the Albanian mafia. Can’t wait to read your other books!

BTW, loved the cover graphics. You are so talented!

    Regards,

    Christian C

    • Dear Christian,

Sorry I didn’t see this comment sooner >8( One day my email will work properly *glares at email program*. Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate them so much <3. I love hearing from people, so I'm glad you made me your first review! =D Letters/notes/comments like yours can motivate me so much more than any other praise. I really can't thank you enough and I hope the next book works for you too.

      All the best,
      Dani

I generally don’t reread books because I remember everything that happened for too long. But I have reread Shattered Glass about three times already and will probably read it again as soon as the sequel comes out. I really enjoyed this book, thank you!!!!
