I’ve never held a contest before, so bear with me! =D Actually, it’s more giveaway than contest, but who cares, free stuff!

I love to read. I cannot tell you how many books I have and how many more I want (the latter being incalculable). So I wanted to give away books as well as something significant to Shattered Glass; books that had great meaning and significance to me (and ones that weren’t about marketing my book, if you know what I mean). I know these two books aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you know someone struggling or questioning, they can make a difference in their lives. So if it’s not your type of book, you can always give it away =). You can pick whichever format is available: a physical copy or an ebook (be aware that a physical copy and the slipper winner will need to give me their physical address).

(For those of you wondering: There will be a giveaway for my ebook later this month, but not on my site =D).

Winner 1:

A pair of bunny slippers

AND

ONE COPY OF EITHER THIS BOOK:

The stories in this book will make you cry and make you feel…glorious, hopeful, powerful. And proceeds go to the cause.

Book Description: Publication Date: January 25, 2012

Every story can change a life.

Growing up isn’t easy. Many young people face daily tormenting and bullying, and this is especially true for LGBT kids and teens. In response to a number of tragic suicides by LGBT students, syndicated columnist and author Dan Savage uploaded a video to YouTube with his partner, Terry Miller. Speaking openly about the bullying they suffered, and how they both went on to lead rewarding adult lives, their video launched the It Gets Better Project YouTube channel and initiated a worldwide phenomenon.

It Gets Better is a collection of original essays and expanded testimonials written to teens from celebrities, political leaders, and everyday people, because while many LGBT teens can’t see a positive future for themselves, we can.

OR THIS BOOK

The Meaning of Mathew – This story is beautiful, poignant and simply breathtaking and when I first read it, it changed my life.

Book Description: Publication Date: September 3, 2009

“A courageous, eloquent, and devoted mother…gives us all a greater understanding of Matthew and the larger meaning of his life.”
-Senator Edward M. Kennedy

Today, Matthew Shepard is synonymous with gay rights, but until 1998, he was just Judy Shepard’s son. In The Meaning of Matthew, Judy Shepard confides how she handled her crippling loss in the public eye, the vigils and protests held by strangers in her son’s name, and ultimately how she and her husband gained the courage to help prosecutors convict her son’s murderers.

Heart-wrenchingly honest, The Meaning of Matthew is an unforgettable and inspiring story, chronicling one ordinary woman’s struggle to cope with the unthinkable.

Two other winners receive one copy of either book.
