Hi Dani, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I loved Shattered Glass! Not only was it hilarious, but the characters were sensational, and have stuck with me months after reading your book. By the way, I gave you a shout-out today on my blog: http://alexalandwrites.blogspot.com/ Take care!

    • Hey Alexa,

thanks so much! I’m so glad you liked it =D Congratz on your own publishing. And thanks also for the shout out <3 Really kind of you!

      -Dani

Hi Dani. I’m a fan and I want to know if the 2nd and 3rd book will be available on Kindle Edition because I really want it on my device. I hope you could consider releasing those two books in Kindle Edition. A lot of my friends will be happy too! Thanks!

    • Hey Jellie, It certainly will be available in just about all formats =)

  • Meris

hello Dani! Just came by to say that I loved..loved..loveeed Shattered Glass. It seems that all your main characters are charming and funny, but with their own kind of wittiness. The character that interests me most in your novel would be Darryl, cause his character is just so..unpredictable to me and he just kills me every time with his charming bitchiness. Anyways, can’t wait for NSI and Shatterproof! btw, I would just like to know whether the picture of Darryl on the cover of Shatterproof is based on a real male model, and if so who? And also, I’m a bit curious about Darryl’s love interest since I just can’t imagine what type of person would catch Darryl’s heart..A little bit of character description, perhaps??:D
    Thanks..

Sending you my love all the way from Indonesia. :):):)

    • Selamat Meris! Terimah kasih for the kind words =)

The picture of Darryl is a model, but I’m afraid I don’t have his name. He’s the spitting image of Darryl, though, so I was very excited to use him D

Darryl’s love interest is named Julian Thompson and we’ll meet him in the very first chapter of NSI. He’s got a lot of work to catch Darryl’s heart, but lots of time to do it =) As for character description: Julian was raised in the UK–Manchester. He’s educated and comes from a middle class family. He’s a clever and tends not to judge people. =)

      Hope that helps!

      Thanks for sticking with me.

      • Meris

ooohhh…You speak Indonesian! That’s fantastic! 🙂 And Julian’s character sounds interesting. For some reason, I am getting a hunch that Julian is another cop from your description of him, though I am just speculating..(if you don’t mind me doing so, since I tend to do that a lot for sequels that I absolutely love..Haha) But it would be interesting if Julian was a cop, since what I can see is that Darryl hates cops and it would be interesting to watch the dynamic of their relationship would play out. Given my speculation and your description of him, mostly him being from the UK and all, I also have this crazy idea that you’ll portray his character like BBC’s Sherlock Holmes(if you haven’t seen it yet, I strongly recommend you do so..but of course, AFTER you have given us our NSI :b) which is a bit crazy.Hahaha. Again, please mind the assumptions. The thing that I really about Shattered glass is how you can meticulously and specifically draw out your characters, making it feel as if they are living, breathing flesh and blood human beings. Reading your book, I feel like they’re people that I’ve known forever and not just figments of someone else’s brilliant imagination(yours!):D Sorry, about the blabbering, just felt like I had to tell you. *sigh* I guess I’d have to wait longer for Shatterproof to come out. 🙁

        • Hah I love all the ways you’ve made Julian! He isn’t a cop, I”m afraid. Julian is a reporter =D A young reporter at that. Darryl would NEVER be with a cop. Not ever lol. Thank you so much for the kind words and I love the blabbering. I just wish my spam folder would quit eating my mail so I knew when people respond to me >8( (Ior maybe I should just that folder more often LOL)

          • Meris

I know! That happens to me a lot
of times too and it’s really annoying. Glad to know that the time-delays to my
comments’ replies are due to technical defaults and not because you’re annoyed
with me for asking too many questions, or for my blabbering, haha, lol 😀 I
can’t help it though, cause Darryl is my FAVORITE character and I have never
come across anyone like him in all of the m/m romance novels that I have read.
Gosh, he’s just super-duper awesome! (though, i love all your other characters
too 🙂 but with Darryl, it’s just love at first read!) And I feel like that
there are just more sides to him that the readers haven’t seen yet, especially
the one affected by his messed-up childhood and abusive parents, so I’m so
excited/curious about that. I sense that his tough and bad boy attitude may be
just an outward facade that he uses to hide some kind of vulnerability/insecurity
perhaps? I can come to this assumption because at a couple of your blog posts
you hinted that Darryl isn’t what/ who people around him think he is, so it somehow
gets my mind reeling on what you mean by that. I guess Julian will be the one
to uncover those mysteries (hence, why I vehemently ask about Julian…..Gosh, I
            am blabbering again!)

So anyways, since I have already
decided that I am a die-hard fan of your novel and will be seeing myself (metaphorically)
sticking to you and your future works and asking ridiculously specific details
about the ‘who’, ‘why’, ‘what’ ,’how’ and ‘when’ of it in the near future.. i
hope you are not going to be irked by the questioning. (like I said, I can’t
help it. Sorry, I’m not sorry) and if you are, then L

            Quick questions of the day:

            1)
When you say Julian is a ‘reporter’, do you mean
            ‘investigative journalist’?

            2)
Is Julian going to be younger than Darryl?

            3)
Why does Darryl hate the cops so much?

            4)
            Does Darryl have trust issues?

            5)
Is Darryl secretly in love with Peter? It was
said that Peter and Darryl were sleeping with each other in the earlier part of
SG, before Austin came into the picture. Are they somehow romantically involved
            at that time?

            6)
What does Austin feel about Darryl really?

            7)
            Who is your fav character?

            8)
Which of the characters is the most fun to write
            about?

            9)
Which of the characters is the most frustrating
            to write about?

            10)
If you have to rate your characters based on how
romantic they are, how would it be?

          • Oh, wow, that’s a lot of questions LOL! And no, I’m not annoyed or bothered =D But I may not answer some because I don’t want to give too much away!

            1. Julian is an aspiring investigative reporter.
            2. They’re nearly the same age.
            3. Going to leave this one unanswered =D
            4. Darryl has issues, period lol. he’s one little angry issue.
            5. Darryl and Peter were always friends with benefits. While Darryl loves Peter, he doesn’t see relationships as that kind of thing.
            6. They have a mutual hatred LOL (but also secretly respect each other)
            7. It’s hard to say. Cai is probably my favorite because I created him first. But only by a hair.
            8. I think Austin is the most fun to write about because he has zero filters.
            9. I think Peter is so hard to write about because he’s really quite emotional and very sentimental, but I had to keep that a mystery from everyone, so we never saw his POV. He has so much heart and is, indeed, the heart of the three boys. I like to think of them as the heart (Peter), teh brain (Cai) and the fist(Darryl).
            10. Depends on your version of romantic =D. There’s some things that I think are really romantic that other people wouldn’t. I guess ‘traditionally’ romantic, I’d say Peter.

I dont usually spend my time trying to contain myself from stalking and checking back for any news whatsoever about said thing i am stalking. But in this case, it is getting pretty ridiculous. I have been checking back on your site for the past 4 months, mostly everyweek trying to will my determination to get NSI to be published anytime sooner. That’s how muvh i adore your book Dani! So,any updates on when it’s going to be out?

    • Hey Lilo, The nearest update I can give you is that a chapter has been sent to my copy editor. I don’t know when I can send him the next chapter–hopefully soon =D I’m sorry that I’m making you stalk! It must be very frustrating. But I appreciate how dedicated you are and that you’re this excited <3. Thank you for sticking with me.

  • Claudia

I’m soo glad there are going to be spin-offs from “Shattered Glass”. It’s one of my favorite books. The characters were so cool and funny. I practically laughed my ass off. And at the same time it was so sweet and exiting. The dialogues were some of the wittiest I’ve ever read.
I always checked on Amazon for a new book from you, but only today I found this site. I’m thrilled that the second spin-off is about Darryl^^ I adored him (though I think I loved Peter the most)

Can’t wait for the two books to be published!!!!

    • Hey Claudia, Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m really glad I made you laugh. That’s awesome. I think it’s hard for me to choose, but I do love Peter so much too. They all have a special place for me LOL Probably why they all get their own books. Hope you stick aroudn for book 2 and 3 =)

  • Mieshia

Hey Dani..Just here to say that I am fangirling over your novel every step of the way since I’ve read it last month, though wish you could have lengthen the progressive relationship of Peter and Austin at the ending so I could fangirl some more :D. Can’t wait for your next book, NSI and the one that comes after that,Shatterproof. I am curious about the character of Riley, since he wasn’t very vividly drawn in Shattered Glass. I am also curious about your new character,Julian, am interested to know more about him. Is he a cop too, like the Riley and Austin? and also, i am interested to know why you decided to involve cross-cultural romance into Darryl’s relationship?

    Thanks.

    • Mieshia

      Sorry, I meant inter-racial romance.

    • Ah the questions! (love them) =D Well, Cai and Riley are also cross cultural. Cai is Albanian and Riley is Latino. The rest will come with the book LOL *tease*
As for Julian, I was perusing stock sites and Darryl picked him. Sometimes it’s that simple. I’ll find a picture and the character will pop out at me and I know he’ll be the next love interest. That happened with Riley and it happened with Peter and it happened with Julian. Ie: Cai picked Riley, Austin picked Peter and Darryl picked Julian.
It wasn’t ever a decision really to make an interracial or cross cultural romance. It was more just seeing what faces instantly create a character for me. The model for Julian did that and I knew he was for Darryl the moment he formed in my head.

hi dani, i dunno where to begin so i’ll just say it, shattered glass is sooo awesome (fanboy laugh, since err… we can’t shriek or worse, giggle! o_O)! like hand’s down amazing! i dunno how i kept on putting off reading it when i saw it as gr’s no.1 m/m of 2012. i was thinking what’s the hype all about? wait… that guy looks like the heroes villain, Sylar?! the F??? the redhead tho’ hmmm… so i got it >_n. just didn’t read it tho’– totally IDIOTmove! like look-in-the-mirror-chanting-I-AM-AN-IDIOT move. so please, please, please forgive me for shrugging off this book. you see, i’m a bit stubborn when trying out something new so i kinda let this story sit for a while until such a time that i’ve mustered the right amount of courage (or drug induced psychosis). and when i finally did, i can’t put it down. i started around 1am skipped jogging and breakfast just to finish it and read it all over again and again and again. lemme tell you i didn’t even feel hungry, i’m so absorbed in the story it’s like i’m actually there! this story just gives me everything and i’m a greedy sonofagun i want a lot! so i’m so pleasantly surprised that it delivered and gave so much more. so not reading it after buying it is like a crime, again, remember– I’M AN IDIOT?

but now, i hate you…how could you do this to me? you’ve given me the highest high with peter and austin and now you pull me back to a dark, dark abyss waiting for cai and riley’s story. tell me how can i last??? how *sniff* sniff*

    bit melodramatic, noh? n_n

anyhow, i might have forgotten to say that shattered glass being in the throne for 2012 is rightfully deserved. i know it for a fact since i liked and read those other writers on the list so having crowned the best meant that your story is really the best. i’d end up gushing or bawling again so i’ll cut it for now. i’ll be a good boy and go back to my mundane life and just patiently wait for your next installment, just hope i ain’t waiting that long. n_n

    keep safe.

    dream big.

    • Omg. I am finding all these old comments today. I think I need a different commenting system. I completely missed this comment and I am so sorry! I can’t apologize enough.

Thank you for coming by and saying such nice things. The only upside to me missing this comment is that I got to read it to day and it just made me so incredibly moved and happy. I can’t tell you how motivating and rewarding it is to read what you wrote!

    any updates on NSI Dani?

    • I’m sorry I missed your comment, Meris. >8( I just found a bunch of unread comments in my list today. I have a few updates on NSI, but mostly it’s in editing phases =) I hope you’re still keeping the faith! I apologize again for missing your comment.

  • Loosair

Hi, I recently read Shattered Glass for the 3rd time and, although I am usually more of a lurker than an active commenter I felt I should really give some feedback … there is only one other romance book I have read more than once (Frog by Mary Calmes) I usually read and the forget romance books. I am not sure if it is the deep story or the flawed characters or the laugh-out-loud lines but I just love this book. In fact talking about has made me want to read it again. Sorry this is in no way constructive but I guess everyone likes to be told they’re great?

    • Hey Loosair, Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. It’s always motivating for an author to hear their work is read and liked. If you only knew how much it buoys our spirit, you’d be here every day! I loved Frog! Very romantic.
I’m so glad you liked Shattered Glass. Believe me when I tell you that, your comment was very constructive. It makes me want to write more and edit faster. So stop by anytime! +D

  • Morgan Kingston

I love love loved Shattered Glass. The book was so dynamic and funny and you just can’t help but love all the characters and their relationships. Every time I thought I figured it out there would be another plot twist. It was amazing! !!! You’re amazing! Is NSI still coming out?

    • Thanks so much for the kind comments, Morgan. You’ve made me FEEL amazing =D. I don’t have a date for NSI, but I’ll announce it on all the social media (twitter, goodreads, facebook, book likes and here on my blog). You can subscribe to me on any of them (the top of this site has a link to my accounts at each one) for more information!

  • Sara

Shattered Glass is one of my favorite mm books, I just love everything about this book, the plot, the characters, the writing, and how smooth everything happens!

I CAN’T WAIT to read the rest of your series <3

    • Thank you so much, Sara! Wow what a great compliment. I hope the next installments meet your expectations =)

  • Christi Peters Kirzner

I just finished reading Shattered Glass tonight for the first time and had no idea it was part of a series. I actually went to Goodreads because I wanted more. I cannot wait to read more about these crazy men. Austin’s one liners are hilarious and the guys are so messed up but somehow that works for all of them. Please tell me Not So Innocent is coming soon

    • Thanks so much, Christi! I promise to write faster and then I can say it’s coming soon. As of right now, I have no idea when, but it’s getting closer to done! =)

  • Nati

    Hi!
I got Shattered Glass as a christmas gift from a very good friend (and I just so happen to open it right infront of my girlfriend’s parents on Christmas Eve whoops!) and to be honest I went in with low expectations , I just thought it’d be another porn book with little to no plot and a lot of… other action. I didn’t expect it to be so good representative wise however! I was super duper surpised to see all these different people, not characters, but people that are complex and quirky and unique and while I DID enjoy the plot, it was the characters and the little things about them that made me enjoy the book as much as I did! I love how self-aware the book is of all it’s serious themes but there’s still humour and still a certain amount of sass and sarcasm to go with it. Overall: One of the best Christmas presents I got this year!!
